P&G files suit over mouthwash packaging

Procter & Gamble Co. is suing a private-label mouthwash maker over its packaging. P&G said Friday that it has filed a lawsuit against Vi-Jon Inc., a private-label manufacturer and distributor of mouthwash, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

CCA chairman to step down

CCA Industries Inc. co-founder Ira Berman plans to step down as chairman as of the company’s next annual shareholders meeting. The health and beauty aids company said Thursday that Berman and director Jack Polak won’t stand for re-election to the board of directors at the annual meeting.

Par to acquire Edict Pharmaceuticals

Par Pharmaceutical Cos. plans to buy Indian generic drug maker Edict Pharmaceuticals in a cash deal valued at up to $37.6 million. Par said Monday that it expects to finalize the agreement, pending customary conditions and approvals, by the end of the year.

Mylan releases generic of Depakote

Mylan Inc. has launched divalproex sodium capsules 125 mg, a medication for seizures. The company said Monday that the product, rolled out by its Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. subsidiary, is the generic version of Abbott’s Depakote Sprinkle Capsules.
