J&J’s U.S. chief customer officer to retire

Frank Maione, U.S. chief customer officer for Johnson & Johnson, plans to retire from the company this fall. During his 34-year career, Maione made significant contributions to the consumer health care business, according to Jeff Strong, global chief customer officer at J&J.

Physicians Formula elects board member

The board of Physicians Formula Holdings Inc. has elected Thomas Lynch as a director. The prestige cosmetics maker said Thursday that Lynch, the founder and senior managing director of investment fund Mill Road Capital, will serve as an independent director, effective immediately.

Merck appoints Frazier as new president

Merck & Co. has named Kenneth Frazier as the pharmaceutical giant’s new president, taking over that post from chairman and chief executive officer Richard Clark. Merck said Wednesday that Clark will continue as chairman and CEO.
