Target expands base of health clinics

Target Corp. plans to open eight Target Clinic health centers in the Chicago and Palm Beach, Fla., markets. The discount store chain said Tuesday that the new Target Clinics include five locations in the Chicago area and three locations in the Palm Beach area.

MINNEAPOLIS — Target Corp. plans to open eight Target Clinic health centers in the Chicago and Palm Beach, Fla., markets.

The discount store chain said Tuesday that the new Target Clinics include five locations in the Chicago area and three locations in the Palm Beach area.

Target reported that the additional sites raise the total number of Target Clinics to 36. Besides the eight new locations, the retailer has 21 Target Clinics in Minnesota and seven in Maryland.

"Health and wellness is an important focus for Target, and we’re thrilled to offer Target Clinic services to our guests in Chicago and the Palm Beach area," Keri Jones, senior vice president of merchandising for Target, said in a statement. "We hope the new locations help our guests and their families reach their well-being goals with the same quality of service and value they expect from Target."

Target Clinics provide walk-in health care services during daytime and evening hours for minor illnesses and injuries, skin treatments, vaccinations, and a variety of health tests and health screenings. The in-store clinics also can administer a range of immunizations, including flu, meningitis and hepatitis A/B.
