MINNEAPOLIS — Target is expanding its value push with price reductions on nearly 2,000 products across its home, apparel and accessories categories as consumers head into the holiday shopping season.

The latest cuts build on more than 10,000 price reductions Target has made over the past year as the retailer works to offer shoppers more affordable options across its assortment.

“Guests are looking for great products at an incredible value, and that’s an important part of what we aim to deliver every day,” said Cara Sylvester, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, Target. “By continuing to lower prices across our assortment, we’re making it even easier for busy families to create moments of joy this fall with the style, design and exceptional value they can only find at Target.”

The reductions include apparel and footwear for women, men, infants and toddlers. Select products are priced at least 20% below last year, while the average price of women’s shoes has declined to $35 from $40. Target said nearly 70% of its new women’s footwear items are priced below last year’s styles.

In home, Target has refreshed its bedding assortment with prices averaging 15% lower. Threshold queen comforters have been reduced to $69 from $89, while Room Essentials queen comforters are now $40, down from $50.

The price cuts come ahead of Target Circle Deal Days, scheduled for Oct. 6 and 7. Members of the retailer’s free Target Circle loyalty program will have access to additional deals during the two-day event.
