DEERFIELD, Ill — A new Walgreens pharmacy in the former Rite Aid location in Hampton Bays, N.Y. is opening this morning, providing residents with a much-needed local pharmacy option.
Hampton Bays residents have had limited pharmacy access since Rite Aid closed the location more than a year ago during the company's second bankruptcy filing in two years. The closure left the Stop & Shop pharmacy as the hamlet's only remaining prescription provider.
Following the opening day launch, the store will operate from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
Walgreens had announced plans in November 2025 to take over the former Rite Aid site in the King Kullen shopping center and has spent the past several months renovating the property in preparation for the opening.
