SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs pharmacists will be lending a hand this weekend at the American Diabetes Association Seattle Expo.
The Puget Sound-area drug chain said Wednesday that Bartell pharmacists will provide free diabetes screenings on Saturday, April 13, at the expo. The screenings include hemoglobin A1C testing for diabetics, blood glucose, blood pressure, body mass index (BMI) and cholesterol, as well as foot exams.
"There are over 25 million children and adults who are living with diabetes, so it’s likely all of us have a family member or friend touched by this disease," Billy Chow, director of pharmacy operations and clinical services at Bartell Drugs, said in a statement. "The expo is a great opportunity to learn more about your health, whether you have type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, prediabetes or just want to live healthy."
To be held at the Washington State Convention Center, the American Diabetes Association Seattle Expo offers free health screenings and consultations, cooking and fitness demonstrations, expert presentations, and product and service exhibitors for people at risk or living with diabetes. Screenings by Bartell Drugs, a presenting sponsor of the event, and other Expo participants are available while supplies last.
