ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores has hired health care policy editor Ben Moscovitch as communications manager.
NACDS said Tuesday that Moscovitch joins its marketing, communications and media relations department and will report to Chrissy Kopple, vice president of media relations.
Most recently, Moscovitch was managing editor for Inside Washington Publishers’ FDA Week and wrote for the Inside Health Policy website. He reported on issues relating to pharmacy and to other areas of health care delivery, according to NACDS.
As communications manager at NACDS, Moscovitch will contribute to the association’s efforts to tell the story of pharmacy as the face of neighborhood health care, emphasizing pharmacy services’ ability to improve patient health and lower health care costs, NACDS said. He also will contribute to NACDS’ member communications activities.
"Ben will bring additional expertise and professionalism to an NACDS team that dedicates its talent and tenacity to advancing community pharmacy every day," NACDS president and chief executive officer Steve Anderson said in a statement. "At the heart of the NACDS brand is a commitment to talking externally and with passion about the work of the people of community pharmacy, and we look forward to the unique perspective that Ben will bring to this effort as a journalist and as a creative communicator."
Moscovitch also has served as a reporter for Exchange Monitor Publications Inc. and as a writer in the government affairs office of Underwriter Laboratories Inc., NACDS said. He has also written articles for the Foreign Policy Association, focusing on Middle East issues.
