Jean Coutu Group board adds new member

The board of Jean Coutu Group has elected Cora Mussely Tsouflidou as a director. The Canadian drug chain said late Wednesday that Tsouflidou was voted onto the Jean Coutu Group board at the company’s recent shareholders meeting.

LONGUEUIL, Quebec — The board of Jean Coutu Group has elected Cora Mussely Tsouflidou as a director.

The Canadian drug chain said late Wednesday that Tsouflidou was voted onto the Jean Coutu Group board at the company’s recent shareholders meeting.

Tsouflidou is the founder, owner and administrator for the group of Cora companies, working in the restaurant industry as the franchisor of the Cora Concept.

"We are very proud to welcome Mrs. Tsouflidou on our board of directors," chairman Jean Coutu said in a statement. "Her vision and values closely match those of the Jean Coutu Group. Her knowledge in the field of franchise and her expertise will be strong assets for the development of our activities."

During this meeting, the shareholders also renewed the mandates of the following directors: Lise Bastarache, François J. Coutu, Jean Coutu, Marie-Josée Coutu, Michel Coutu, Sylvie Coutu, L. Denis Desautels, Marcel Dutil, Nicolle Forget, Robert Lacroix, Yvon Martineau, Annie Thabet and Dennis Wood.

Jean Coutu Group operates a network of 400 franchised drug stores in Quebec, New Brunswick and Ontario under thePJC Jean Coutu, PJC Clinique, PJC Santé and PJC Santé Beauté banners. The company also owns Pro Doc Ltd., a manufacturer of generic drugs, and holds an equity interest in U.S. drug chain in Rite Aid Corp.
