Kerr adds online store finder to free Rx delivery

Kerr Drug has launched an online store finder for its free prescription delivery program. The regional drug chain, which has 90 stores in North Carolina, said customers can now visit kerrdrugdelivers.com to find the nearest Kerr pharmacy to request free delivery.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Kerr Drug has launched an online store finder for its free prescription delivery program.

The regional drug chain, which has 90 stores in North Carolina, said customers can now visit kerrdrugdelivers.com to find the nearest Kerr pharmacy to request free delivery.

To use the finder, customers visit the Kerr Drug Delivers web site, enter a city or ZIP code, and select the distance. After locating the nearest Kerr pharmacy, they call their prescription in to a pharmacist to get it filled and request that the prescription be delivered to their home or office.

Non-pharmacy items from the store also can be delivered at no charge. In addition, Kerr pharmacists can help customers who want to transfer their prescriptions from another pharmacy to use the free delivery service, the retailer said.

"Free delivery became a popular service as soon as we started the program, and our new web locator makes the service even easier to use," Tony Civello, president and chief executive officer of Kerr Drug, said in a statement. "There are circumstances when customers can’t get to the pharmacy, and providing free delivery is another way to better serve the community, which is what the concept of community pharmacy is all about."

Kerr began the free prescription delivery program in September in select stores and later on expanded the service to its other stores. The chain’s delivery staff call patients when they are en route so that customers can be prepared when the medication arrives. Patients must sign for the prescriptions upon delivery.
