MIAMI — Navarro Discount Pharmacy has opened its 33rd store, located on NW 7th Street in Miami.

The Hispanic-owned drug chain said Monday that the 10,000-square-foot store features a new color scheme and enhanced signage in English and Spanish, along with a fragrance section with added light boxes, a cell phone center, a photo department, a new pastelito cafeteria, and a greater selection of food and dairy products in the refrigerated and frozen section.
"The new store meets consistent demand we are seeing in the city of Miami and is well-positioned near Miami International Airport," Navarro president and chief executive officer Juan Ortiz said in a statement. "As a community pharmacy, we are pleased to continue to serve the local community looking for Navarro’s everyday low pricing, signature products and unique assortment."
At the grand opening event, the first 150 customers received a free Navarro reusable bag filled with products, and free product samples were offered throughout the day. In addition, there was a mini wine festival plus free blood pressure and glucose screenings administered by Palm Plaza Medical Centers.

During April, new customers transferring four or more prescriptions will receive a $100 Navarro store credit that can be used over a three-month period.
"Navarro spent more than $1 million on the new location, including $500,000 on construction and an additional $500,000 on merchandise, fixtures and equipment," stated Dania Farinas-Muñoz, manager of the new Miami store.
Pharmacy services for customers include a pediatric window for busy parents, compounding, a free Diabetes Club for adults and children, a Mommy and Me Club and free prescription delivery for all customers.
Navarro added that the new store will target Hispanics from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Cuba with specific products such as hair care, beer and nectar drinks, among other.
The retailer’s signature products for Hispanics include Café La Llave Expresso coffee and Fabuloso multipurpose cleaner, plus popular brands such as Valentini, El Sembrador and La Fe. Navarro’s Vida Mia private-brand products, with sport bilingual packaging, are also available throughout the store in a range of categories, including baby, beauty, food, household, health and OTCs, totaling more than 1000 SKUs.
