CAMP HILL, Pa. — Rite Aid Corp. has launched its own mobile application, offering iPhone and Android smartphone users a menu of pharmacy and shopper tools.
With the free app, customers can order prescription refills by using their smartphone’s camera to take a picture of the barcode on the medicine bottle, typing in the prescription number or accessing past prescriptions on file.
They also can transfer prescriptions from another pharmacy or sign up for text, e-mail or phone alerts via the Rx Reminders service.
Members of Rite Aid’s wellness+ loyalty program also can use the app to check their point total as well as access the chain’s Load2Card program to “clip” online coupons and add them directly to their wellness+ card for instant savings at checkout.
Customers can also browse Rite Aid’s weekly sales circular via the app and get thumbnail page views, zoom in for details, view items in a list-view format and then add items to a mobile shopping list.
And to find the nearest Rite Aid store, customers can use their smartphone’s built-in GPS or enter a ZIP code. Filters enable them to show only stores with such features as 24-hour service, a drive-through pharmacy, a GNC department and an in-store health clinic. Customers also can get store hours and call directly from the locator.
