LONGUEUIL, Quebec — Jean Coutu Group has begun enabling pharmacy customers to receive a text or e-mail notification when their prescriptions are ready for pickup.
Called "It’s Ready," the service allows patients to order medications in advance and provides more flexibility for shopping in stores as they wait for prescriptions, the Canadian drug chain said Thursday.
"The It’s Ready! notification service is an outstanding tool that allows the pharmacist and his team to offer a quick and impeccable customer service. We are proud to add this new functionality to our list of exclusive services offered at Jean Coutu," Richard Mayrand, executive vice president of pharmacy and government affairs at the Jean Coutu Group, said in a statement.
To enroll in the prescription notification service, customers can go to the Rx counter and ask pharmacy staff to add that option to their patient file, or they can do so themselves by selecting the "Messaging Service" option in their online Health Record at JeanCoutu.com.
Besides prescription notifications, Jean Coutu’s Health Record provides such online pharmacy tools as prescription history, ordering of refills, and reminders for when it’s time to take medication or refill a prescription. It also includes health monitoring tools for blood pressure, blood glucose and weight. The blood pressure and glucose data can be shared with a doctor, and the weight monitoring information can be printed as a report.
