ShopRite serves up free vitamins

Food and drug retailer ShopRite has begun offering free prenatal vitamins at its pharmacy locations. The retailer-owned supermarket cooperative, part of Wakefern Food Corp.

KEASBEY, N.J. — Food and drug retailer ShopRite has begun offering free prenatal vitamins at its pharmacy locations.

The retailer-owned supermarket cooperative, part of Wakefern Food Corp., said Wednesday that customers can get a free 30-day supply of Prenatal Plus or Prenatal Plus FE vitamins with a valid prescription.

ShopRite also offers free 30-day supplies of select diabetes generic drugs and free 14-day supplies of certain generic antibiotics. Other generic prescription medications start at $3.99 for a 30-day supply.

The chain, too, encourages customers to consult with its staff of pharmacists as well as with in-store dietitians.

ShopRite has more than 230 supermarkets located in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland. About 200 of the stores have pharmacies.
