Sanofi-aventis finalizes Chattem acquisition

Sanofi-aventis has completed its acquisition of U.S. drug maker Chattem Inc., which is now a subsidiary of the sanofi-aventis Group. Chattem’s common stock ceased trading on the Nasdaq Global Select Market after the market’s close on March 10, sanofi-aventis said Thursday.

Helen of Troy to buy Pert Plus, Sure brands

Helen of Troy Ltd. plans to acquire the Pert Plus hair care and Sure antiperspirant and deodorant businesses from Innovative Brands LLC. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Helen of Troy and Phoenix-based Innovative Brands, a portfolio company of investment firm Najafi Cos.
