ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores Executive Committee has named three new directors to fill vacancies on the NACDS Foundation board.

NACDS announced Thursday that Chris Dimos, president of pharmacy operations at Supervalu; Jim VanLieshout, vice president of retail sales at Apotex; and Alice Swearingen, vice president of channel development and sales for GlaxoSmithKline, were elected to the foundation’s board, which consists of 22 members.

Each new director will serve the remaining 2009-10 term until the foundation’s board elections are held in April 2010 at the NACDS Annual Meeting, the association said.

"We are pleased to welcome the three new members to the NACDS Foundation board of directors," NACDS Foundation president Edith Rosato said in a statement. "They will continue the strong representation on the board of chains and suppliers alike. We value their expertise, dedication and commitment to the industry, and we look forward to working together for the good of the public and the patients served by community pharmacy."

Rosato, senior vice president of pharmacy affairs at NACDS, was elected president of the NACDS Foundation in late June. She succeeded Philip Schneider, who retired from the foundation and the association earlier this year.
