JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Bi-Lo has added generic Plavix (clopidogrel) to its discount generic prescription program.
The food and drug retailer said Friday that generic clopidogrel is now available for $4 for a 30-day supply and $10 for a 90-day supply via Pharmacy Discount Card.
Bi-Lo’s prescription savings program is offered in all of its pharmacies and offers deep discounts on over 350 generic drug, various discounts on brand-name medications and other generics, and ongoing promotions and specials.
The chain has about 115 pharmacies inside its more than 200 supermarkets in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.
"The generic form of PLAVIX (clopidogrel) was just recently released in the market, and it provides customers with initial savings over the brand equivalent," John Fegan, vice president of pharmacy for Bi-Lo Holding, said in a statement. "This prescription is a highly requested medication from Bi-Lo customers, so we are especially pleased to offer an even deeper discount that allows them to focus on what is important, their health."
Winn-Dixie, also part of Bi-Lo Holding, began offering generic Plavix through its prescription savings program August.
