WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS/pharmacy this weekend is getting customers to celebrate Halloween early in its drug stores.
The drug chain said Monday that it plans to hold its second annual Family Halloween Party on Sunday, Oct. 21, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at all 7,400 stores across the country.
For the event, families are invited to their local CVS store, and children are encouraged to come in costume. Those dressed up will receive one free Halloween gift with any purchase along with a fun pack filled with $15 in Halloween coupons, including a free 5×7 photo taken and developed in-store, $5 off any Halloween costume, $5 off Hershey’s snack size candies (19-ounce bags or larger), and $2 off any CVS brand C or D batteries, as well as $1 off Unreal candy, a new, "unjunked" treat intended as a "healthier for you" snacking choice.
"CVS/pharmacy has long been a one-stop shopping destination for Halloween, with everything from decorations, candy, costumes and party supplies available for our customers," Judy Sansone , senior vice president of merchandising for CVS/pharmacy, said in a statement. "The second annual Family Halloween Party is our way of thanking our customers by offering them a fun way to prepare and save money for Halloween with an early celebration for the whole family."
The chain also is using the event to highlight its CVS/pharmacy Photo Centers for Halloween-themed templates for photo invitations that can be created in minutes. The photo invitations start as low as 65 cents each or $12.99 for a set of 20 and are available for same-day pickup.
