RICHMOND, British Columbia — Clint Mahlman will step down as president and chief operating officer of London Drugs on Friday after more than 41 years with the company.
He will be succeeded by Nick Curalli, who has been London's vice president of technology solutions since 2017. Curalli has been with London for more than 30 years. He started with the company as general manager of information technology before being named chief privacy officer in 2009.
"I could not be more thrilled and confident that Nick Curalli is taking over as president and COO," Mahlman wrote on LinkedIn, "as I know his commitment and passion for the company's success is without peer, and he brings exceptional skill and leadership that will benefit all for years to come."
Mahlman was named president in 2018. He had been the company's top executive as executive vice president and COO starting in 2014.
"I wanted to thank all the people who reached out to remind me of the relationships we built, the challenges we resolved, the opportunities we worked on and the fun we had... together," he wrote. "I'm a product of thousands of people who took the time to mentor and teach a young stock person, and through my various positions over years."
He thanked those who were "patient ... and tolerated my mistakes and failures. I'm grateful for the risk you took. We paddled this journey together and I'm a product of your caring."
He thanked London's owners, the H.Y. Louie family, "and other past leaders of the company who gave me opportunities and trust. It's been a humbling honor to lead. I look forward to future projects and helping where I can in business and the community."
London has 78 stores in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
