MacLean to join Pharmavite as new CEO

Pharmavite has hired Doug MacLean as its new chief executive officer. The dietary supplement manufacturer, maker of Nature Made vitamins and SoyJoy nutrition bars, said Tuesday that MacLean is slated to join the company on June 1.

Hisamitsu launches new Salonpas pain relief patches

Hisamitsu has shipped two new external pain relievers for the U.S. market, Salonpas Pain Relief Patch and Salonpas Arthritis Pain.  The company said Monday that both products are the first and only Food and Drug Administration-approved over-the-counter pain relief patches now  on the market.

Axellia buys majority stake in Phoenix Global Supply Group

Axellia Pharmaceuticals has acquired a majority interest in Phoenix Global Supply Group Inc. to supply finished dosage over-the-counter pharmaceutical products in the United States and Canada. Denmark-based Axellia announced the deal late Tuesday. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

J&J’s U.S. chief customer officer to retire

Frank Maione, U.S. chief customer officer for Johnson & Johnson, plans to retire from the company this fall. During his 34-year career, Maione made significant contributions to the consumer health care business, according to Jeff Strong, global chief customer officer at J&J.
